I thank the Officers and Committee for their invitation to judge BIS for their club show. Always a warm and friendly atmosphere at this excellent venue.
BEST IN SHOW was the dog Sh Ch Caleykiz Mystical Dragon JW. Good head pattern, dark eye, fair reach of neck, level topline. Moved very well.
RES BIS was also the dog Sh Ch / Am Ch Avatar One Nite Stand Bayshore (imp). Now 6 years old, lovely head, dark expressive eye, good reach of neck. Firm topline and another sound moving Border.
BOS the bitch Terrica Fascination was not too keen on me going over her, so a little reluctant to show off her charms. Good shape and size, dark eye, moved well.
BEST PUPPY IN SHOW was the bitch Aculsia Boom Boom Pow. Very feminine, dark expressive eye, good reach of neck, moved very well.
RES BPIS the Minor Puppy, only 7 mths. Pretty puppy bitch, nice head and eye, well made, shows potential.

DOGS ~ Judge Dave Cavill
I felt greatly honoured to be invited to judge the Club's Championship Show and thoroughly enjoyed my day. Overall the quality in the upper classes was very good with some really excellent dogs present, although in the lower classes the variety of outlines gave some cause for concern as too many dogs were either too heavy in body or too square in outline. Movement was generally good with the proportion moving close behind rather less than I have seen in the past and although there was some over-reaching this did not seem as prevalent even in those dogs which were too square.
Minor Puppy Dog (13, 1 abs, 1 transferred to PD)
1st & BPD Hamilton's Kiaminogue's That's Daz's Boy. This is a beautifully shaped dog, still got some growing to do but has excellent head, very nice proportions, moved well, classic example of a young Border Collie.
2nd Stacey's Bilyara Orapa. Little better in size but not quite the stability of 1, very good head and expression, moved extremely well, well handled.
3rd Wiltshire's Caleykiz Dragonfly. As yet a little shallow in chest, crabbed a fraction but nevertheless an excellent shape, good angulation fore and aft, nice light, quality dog.
Res Littlethorn Corsair at Resleap
VHC Tonkory Viceroy
Puppy Dog (11 + 1 transferred from MPD)
1st Bilyara Orapa. Was looking good in MPD but looks even better now he is a bit more settled, went round the ring beautifully.
2nd Gillespie's Detania This Was Deja Vu. Another very good quality dog, lovely size and shape, at its age could do with a little more size; perhaps a little plain in head but lovely shape, very good movement.
3rd Forster-Cooper's Sheltysham Spring Splender. Good shape again, good movement, just a little heavier than the other two.
Res Beesting Billy Boston
VHC Tonkory Viceroy
Junior Dog (9). The class was uneven in terms of overall quality.
1st Green's Blade Of Bron Yr Aur. Lovely example of the breed, beautiful shape, very nice hindquarter, moved extremely well, keeping his tail low, really feel it could crouch on immediate demand.
2nd Gregory's Tonkory Up And Coming. Another nice dog, quite light, not quite such good angulation in the hind quarter, nevertheless a good mover.
3rd Detania This Was Deja Vu
Res Betsymira Magic Moments with Alsagri
VHC Florauna The Countryman
Yearling Dog (5)
1st Ferber's Rossbrook Chasing Shadows JW. Lovely example of the breed, beautiful set on of head and tail, exactly the right proportions, moved very well indeed, lovely example, excellent feet.
2nd Hamilton's Detania Bobby Dazzler at Kiaminogue. Another nice dog, holding itself a little bit tight at the hind quarter.
3rd Milford & McCord's Altamera American Thunder. Apart from first place not much to choose between the others.
Res Nice Of You To Come Bye Going For Gold (imp Taf)
VHC Detania Colonel O'Neil
Graduate Dog (5, 1 abs). Somewhat disappointing class.
1st McDonald's Jupavia Catch My Dream.Little bit too big and heavy, shape is right, neck is marginally short and hind quarter could do with a little more angulation.
2nd Metherell's Bordertime Clotted Creme. Again slightly short in the neck, heavier in body than 1, outline right and movement okay.
3rd Scott's Lydeardlea Supersonic of Belsmard
Res Deeann Majestic Dream
Post Graduate Dog (12, 2 abs)
1st Mangles' Karrider Kissed By Magic. Well set up dog, good outline, moved very well, perhaps a little tall on the leg, lacking a little angulation in the hind quarter but otherwise well shaped dog, good head.
2nd Coogan & Runnacles' Arnpriors Top Gun via Breurn. Rather smaller, very nicely shaped dog, moved too close behind.
3rd Bennett's Still Rockin On A Mission for Xotica. Little bulkier all round, again a reasonable mover.
Res Shemella Ray of Sunshine
VHC Zanyway Zephyr
Mid Limit Dog (5, 1 abs)
1st Hawker's Foxbarton Taittinger JW ShCM. This is gorgeous, beautiful example of the breed, excellent conformation, lovely proportions, beautiful movement, lovely head and expression, really a delight.
2nd Beaumont's Borderbeau Emporio Armani. Another good one, slightly shorter in neck, little higher on the leg, but nevertheless very good mover indeed.
3rd Arnpriors Top Gun via Breurn. Another nice dog, although not so well angulated either fore or aft.
Res Kinaway Famous Lover for Jacamalis
Limit Dog (10, 2 abs). This was quite a difficult class because although overall the quality was good, each had characteristics that were desirable and others that were less so. It was quite difficult to get the balance right.
1st McCord's Altamera Dallas Driftin. Good looking dog, moved very well indeed, nice outline, good head and expression.
2nd Forster-Cooper's Sheltysham Space Spy. Cracking mover this one, very nice indeed, just a little long in the loin but just the right height and moving precisely as the breed requires.
3rd Peacock's Starside Fellindra at Arnpriors. Another very good one, again little to choose between the first three.
Res Detania Autumnal Prince at Olistazia
VHC Littlethorn Scirocco
Open Dog (13, 1 abs)
1st DCC & BIS Wiltshire & Carter's Sh Ch Caleykiz Mystical Dragon JW. The best moving dog in the show without any doubt at all, absolutely full stride fore and aft without over reaching, lovely head and expression, excellent conformation, beautiful animal.
2nd RDCC & RBIS Large, Broadhurst & Harlow's Sh Ch / Am Ch Avatar One Nite Stand Bayshore (imp). Somewhat more glamorous than 1 but a little shorter in body, another very good mover, lovely head and expression.
3rd Driessens' Wendevick Hamilton (ATC Bel). A Little longer this time but another very good mover with a lovely outline. All these three dogs are superb, in fact it was a lovely class to judge.

Veteran Dog (5)
1st Large, Woods, Harlow & Bayliss's Sh Ch / Am Ch Borderfame I Am I Said (imp). Little heavy and plain in head but in very good condition, moved very well indeed.
2nd Davis's Kinaway Its Elementary for Jacamalis. Nice slight dog, perhaps a little weak in the hind quarter.
3rd Robinson's Pondeboys Macallum. All good examples of the breed given their age.
Res Snowmere Tarn JW AW
VHC Beesting Flibbity Gibbet with Florauna

BITCHES ~ Judge Marion Turner
It was a privilege to be asked to judge at The Southern Border Collie Championship Show. After serving on the committee for 25 yrs this was the icing on the cake. The committee all worked very hard to make this a most enjoyable day. A thank you must go to Mr Keith & Mrs Jan Starkey who were my ring stewards for the day and kept everything running like clock work.
Minor Puppy Bitch (9, 1 abs)
1st Large's Wizaland O Sounds Of My Soul. Nice head and expression, good neck and shoulders best mover in this class.

VHC Wilchay Misty Dawn
Puppy Bitch (8)
1st Lucas's Aculsia Boom Boom Pow. Oozes elegance, correct eye shape, well laid neck and shoulders and correct tight feet. Handled very well for one so young. I liked her a lot. (BPB) It was nice to see her go on to win Best Puppy in Show.

3rd Detania Annie Laurie
Res Tazaeos Shez Sofanci
VHC Wilchay Misty Dawn

1st Simmons & Venn's Glenshannon What's Occuring at Miraje. A very well bodied bitch, good reach of neck, correct angulations, nice tight feet, moved with drive.
2nd Turner & Alexander's Locheil Shows Promise. When I read the name of this bitch I thought it said it all Shows Promise, was unfortunate to meet the 1st and this was a very good class, all first four dogs could change places on a different day.
3rd Sheltysham Shockin Showoff
Res Tonkory Up And Running
VHC Locheil Violets Are Blue
Yearling Bitch (15, 2 abs)
1st Taylor's Minkynips Is What. You do really need to go over this bitch to appreciate how well constructed she is under her coat. Out moved everything in her class and on the challenge she kept her correct topline she has a great future in the breed, showed to advantage. Correct shoulders, excellent front correct movement away and on return.
2nd Large, Broadhurst & Harlow's Am Ch Bayshore British Connection Avatar (imp). You do need to get your hand on this bitch to appreciate her. Has good overall quality, moved with drive around the ring.

3rd Locheil Luck Of The Irish
Res Altamera Ewe Put A Spell On Me
VHC Bytchek Elegance
Mid Limit Bitch (7, 1 abs)
1st Tunnicliff's Littlethorn Porsche JW. Very pretty B+W bitch an awful lot to like about her. Her movement won her this class today as quite a lot of very nice bitches in this class. Loved her eye shape and correct tight feet. Movement away and on return correct, looked like she could work all day.
2nd Wiltshire's Caleykiz The Last Twist JW. Good quality bitch would have liked a bit more coat on her. Correct neck into shoulders, good angulation, well ribbed body.
3rd Lydeardlea Buttons And Bows of Belsmard
Res Lydeardlea Lazy Daisy
VHC Tazaeos Shesmetet
Limit Bitch (14, 1 abs)
1st Avory's Terrica Fascination. There is so much to say about this bitch, she has everything I like about the breed. Lovely feminine head, correct eye shape and shoulders, rib cage could be felt and correct good quality bone & muscle, tight feet and clean teeth made the overall bitch complete and then when she moved I could see why I awarded her the bitch CC. She could work all day and she is a credit to her handler who turned her out to perfection.
2nd Clarke's Caleykiz Twist The Nite Away. Very unfortunate to meet the 1st, good quality bitch overall.
3rd Wizaland Spirit With Soul
Res Altamera Kiwi Heaven
VHC Beesting Lilo Lil
Open Bitch (16, 3 abs)
1st Wiltshire's Caleykiz Rhythm In Black. Lots of things to like about her. This bitch is very dark but that does not take away from her, how she is made. Good reach of neck, well laid back shoulders. Unfortunately just dropped her topline on the challenge Res CC.
2nd Liebscher's Troumerle Rainbow. Another very god quality bitch and could change places with 1st on any day, a very close call between 1st & 2nd.
3rd Altricia Love A Lot
Res Tonkory Integrity for Lorianna
VHC Locheil Funny Face
Veteran Bitch (10)
1st Tunnicliff's Sh Ch Littlethorn Kia. What a lovely veteran, at 9yrs she can still out move a lot of the youngsters. B+W, correct head shape and eye colour, nice tight feet, kept her topline on the move all the way round. Best Veteran in Show.
2nd Paesler's Resleap Jingle Belle. Good quality bitch, good front and excellent rib cage, just preferred the movement on 1st.

JUNIOR HANDLING (3) ~ Judge Dave Weller
1st Lucy Green. Very confident handler. Kept her dog on the right side, at all times, and showed her to her best advantage.
2nd Sarah Stacey. Had a very playful puppy dog to handle, was doing well, but moved on the wrong side. I was to learn this was the first for both of them, can only improve.
3rd Amy Miles
