Open Obedience Show 10th May 2009
Novice Part 3 D/B - Judge's Report

Judge: Keith A Starkey
Steward: Chrys Hancock
Scoreboard: Mrs Janet Starkey

Well done the Southern Border Collie Club, a well organised show, good size level rings, kind weather and plenty of food & drinks. Many thanks to my Ring Steward Chrys Hancock for a very good job and also to my wife Jan for scoreboarding after a heart operation on the Thursday before the show at St Thomas's Hospital in London.

The work was of a very high standard so thanks to all my competitors.

1st. Miss B Short and Gypton Just A Wish Upon A Star. WS. Lost 1/2.
Very high standard of handling, handler worked this young bitch to perfection. Well done and one to watch in the future, a pleasure to judge.

2nd. Mrs P Wilson and Hugo De Grez. GSD. Lost 1.
Lovely smooth handling to get the best from this big boy. An excellent round, well done. Not flashy just good steady work and should go far.

3rd. Mrs E Pearson and Pix Von Brook Radetski. GSD. Lost 1 1/2.
Another well handled round, nothing overdone, just steady work. Just a few silly mistakes but should go on to better things in the future.

4th. Miss T Venus and Detania Chocolate Dream Beg Ex. BC. Lost 2.
Won the run off and did a good round. Just a few problems, mainly crooked sits, but a very promising team overall.

5th. Ms M Scott and Bordertime Charlie Boy of Mascottsway. BC. Lost 2.
Good round, just drifted wide occasionally, but went right off the boil when it came to the run off.

6th. Miss D Bastin and Zetor Special Edition Nov Ex. X. Lost 2 1/4.
Handler worked very hard in this round to get the best out of this dog. Main problem was crooked sits but held it together and wond the run off, well done.

A most enjoyable day with excellent handling and overall a pleasure to judge.
