Open Obedience Show 10th May 2009
Beginner D/B - Judge's Report

Judge: Pauline Heather
Steward: Bill Nankivell
Scoreboard: Jo Lord

Thanks to Karen for asking me to judge at this lovely friendly show! All our needs were excellently met! Lunch was lovely as were the presents, much appreciated.

Thanks also to Bill for stewarding again for me and to Jo for keeping us straight on the scoreboard; daughter Hannah also helped out. Mustn't forget the stay ring and Charlie Webley with his able assistants, many thanks.

1st. Minka Lexey Q.T. AW Pre-Beg Ex (BSD B) Julie Saunders. Lost 1¾.
Nice accurate round! Take care on left turns where marks were lost. Julie and Razzel work well together as a team and were lovely to watch. Very well done on this win. The mark lost on stays was because Razzel got up as Chief Steward said 'exercise over' - literally a split second.

2nd. Dasher The Gnasher (WSD) Sandra Crawley. Lost 2¼.
Sandra and Codie produced a nice round, perhaps a bit forward in the heelwork, heelfree was better. A good clear retrieve helped towards getting this place. Well done!

3rd. Jack It Wasn't Me (BC D) Gill Payne. Lost 2½.
Worked fourth in the running order. Jack tried hard today, his left turns were very nice. Another good retrieve. Well done.

4th. Roscarbery Rogue (WSD) Sharon Paine. Lost 2¾.
Sharon and Mouse waited patiently to do their round and worked nicely. Maintained a constant position in heelwork but did tend to work forward and crab a bit. Well done on this place, you clearly have a good rapport with your dog.

5th. ARO Rosduvin Rough Diamond (Terv) Lyn Keens. Lost 3¼.
Lyn and Jasper had featured in the running order. Jasper worked with enthusiasm and clearly enjoys his work. Good luck with him.

6th. ARO Bournepark Bree (CS B) Maureen Wright. Lost 3¼.
A sweet Cocker Spaniel bitch who tried so hard. Clear recall in actual round, just bits and pieces to mark, well done.

Our class did not keep us waiting and were an enthusiastic group. Everyone tried hard and although the standard was variable all were happy with their dogs - which is the main thing! These are pet dogs doing Obedience, as should be the case in all classes.
