Open Obedience Show 10th May 2009
B Part 2 D/B - Judge's Report

Judge: Jacquie Austin
Steward: Marion Burchell
Scoreboard: Sue Ferber

I had a very good day but was disappointed that out of thirty entries, 13 handlers trained! Nice venue and very nice club organisers. We were given an excellent lunch and taken care of well throughout the day.

My ring steward did her duties beyond requirements and treated handlers very well and I would recommend her to anyone needing a steward.

1st. Mrs G A Hards and Quilters Celtic Spirit. WS. Lost 1.
Well done to this handler. A very nice round to watch and good luck with your C rounds. From what I saw, it won't be long before you are out of class C. Good luck with your ticket rounds.

2nd. Mrs L Treneman and Pepsanner Ark Royal. Goldie. Lost 2.
A lovely Goldie this. I thought that your slow pace was a little too slow for the dog as it had trouble holding back which caused crabbing. Presents and finishes took the rest of your marks. However the general standard of your work was excellent.

3rd. Mrs S Wilkinson and Kepwen A Touch Of Frost. BC. Lost 2 1/2.
One of the very few clear sendaways today, if not the only one. Nice round, just little bits to sort for your win. Good luck.

4th. Mrs F Gomm and Decoymans Piper Sunrise. NSDTR. Lost 2 3/4.
Just bits and pieces losing marks and the marks were so close that a win can only be just around the corner. Good luck.

5th. Ms M Loft and Merrymarsh Dressed To Kill of Kingsfarm. WS. Lost 3 1/4.
Just odds and ends to sort and you will soon be a winner.

6th. Mrs A Budge and Kethinna Spirit Of Kraken. WS. Lost 3 1/2.
Sits were your problem today. Fix those and you will be in the winners ring before long.

I was surprised at how many handlers did training rounds. Out of 30 working, 13 did a training round! Also for some reason a lot of dogs did not sit at the halts?

Lastly, thank you to Sue Ferber for keeping score! Hopefully your knee is feeling better.
