Open Obedience Show 11th May 2008
Class B Part 1 - Judge's Report

Judge: Sandy Evans
Steward: Marguerite Greening
Scoreboard: Melanie
54 entries ~ 38 ran

Thank you Karen and the committee for the invitation to judge at your lovely show. Weather was just right, sunny, warm with a breeze. We were well looked after, fed and watered and given great presents at the end of the day.

Special thanks to Marguerite for giving up her day to steward for me and she did a great job steering the competitors around the ring and avoiding the 2 holes and great company as well. Thanks again. Also to Melanie who did the scoreboard and decoy on scent for the first time and did a great job. Well done. Also thank you to Charlie and his stay team, a job well done. And now for the important bit:

1st. Goldfly Spirit In The Sky of Athyrium (Italian Spinone B) Mrs Ann Cook. Lost 9.
Many congratulations. I understand this makes Bolar 'C' only - so very well done and good luck for the rest of the season. It was obviously a belated birthday present to herself! It is always great to see other breeds reach the dizzy heights of 'C', so enjoy your success.

2nd. Bright Destiny (WS D) Mrs J Powley. Lost 12.
Well, Jamie worked a really nice round, but he threw away too many points on that retrieve - what a shame. Still there is always next week. Very well done. The only clear SA of the day.

3rd. Kepwen A Touch Of Frost (BC B) Mrs S Wilkinson. Lost 12¼.
Lottie worked a good round but bits & pieces on heelwork added up today. Get those A/Ts tightened up and I'm sure she will do well. Finished on a clear scent, so well done.

4th. Rueson Blueprint (Aussie D) Mrs L White. Lost 12¼.
A lovely Aussie. Blue worked a good round today, he knew his job and got on with it. Deviation on SA and a pick-up down-pointed him today. I'm sure he won't be in 'B' long. Didn't run off for 3rd as handler felt he had done enough today - so well done.

5th. Nobite Trial N Retribution (BC D) Miss L Holmes. Lost 13
Loki lost most of his marks on his heelwork today. His sets were very good and he is still in 'A' so well done on your place.

6th. Olantigh Ritual Magick (GSD D) Miss S Porter. Lost 15
Taro ended up working 3rd in running order, so perhaps this was a bit early for him - he did really well and got better as the round went on. Still in 'A' so well done, and a clear scent to finish.

Judges Special Rosette went to Mrs L Hughes and Arnpriors A Touch Of Frost. Mica is a fabulous bitch, we could have watched her doing heelwork all day! Good luck for the future.
Worthy of a mention today: Paul Cook and Keifer who had done a great round up to SA and then didn't go down on command - so Paul trained which paid off as I read he won the next week. Well done.
Also must mention Sheila Legg and Oliver, unsure of SA today, but the rest of his work was full of confidence and his heelwork looked great.

Thank you to all the competitors today as we weren't kept waiting. Thank you for your entries and keep those tails a-wagging!
