Class Pre-Beginners D/B - Judge's Report
Judge: Pauline Heather
Steward: Bill Nankivell
Entries 28 - 16 ran
Thank you to Karen Angier and the committee for looking after us so well, you did a marvellous job as a 'first timer' Karen. The weather was very hot indeed and all the dogs and handlers did well considering the conditions. A very cheery collection of enthusiastic people. Thank you to my steward Bill who did a grand job - standing in at the last moment due to my arranged steward falling ill and being hospitalised - a speedy recovery Wendy. Also thanks to the stay team and chief stay steward Doreen Weston.
1st. Mrs Kathy Woodger and Turbo Nutter Zorro - GSD. Lost 2¾. Today's clear winner. Zorro tried hard, he maintained a good close position in HOL, but drifted a bit on HF. Kathy is a keen handler and she and Zorro deserved to win today. Well done.
2nd. After run off. Valerie Dean and Micam Black Velvet - GSD. Lost 3¾. Harvey really tried for his mum today and it paid off. I know Valerie was pleased with her boy. Won the run off to get this place. Well done.
3rd. After run off. Kimberly Hampsheir and Ding A Ling - Beagle. Lost 3¾. This little beagle tried really hard and produced some good heelwork. One of the few clear recalls of the day. Unfortunate to lose the run off, but capable of winning on another day.
4th. Haydn and Karingal Kiss Me Quick - BC. Lost 4¼. Entered under Mrs E Wilson 'Willow' was worked by her young son. A lovely collie and the only bitch in the line up. Keep up the good work and all the best for the future.
5th. Mrs Barbara Davis and Romeojo Joker - X. Lost 5. Barbara and JoJo did well in HOL and a nice clear Rec. It all went a bit wrong in HF. A nice little rescue dog who is well worth persevering with. Keep on trying with him and your beautiful bitch Mika.
6th. Julia Fellows and Archmeadow Monkey Man - GSD. Lost 5¾. Bertie tried really hard, but suffered in the heat. He did a nice recall with just a slightly wonky sit. Keep practising, I'm sure it will all be worth it.
There should have been a run off for 6th place, but Bob and his lovely Lab Katie - Katie Of Hempstead - were not around. They have been sent the Judge's Special rosette. It was a pleasure to judge everyone, all had a good rapport and attitude with their dogs.
